Jason Reimuller, PhD, has a passion for aeronomy – the study of the upper atmosphere. He has crafted a unique noctilucent cloud research program which includes the use of suborbital spacecraft. The research requires real-time decisions on where to focus during the flight. Jason has created a training program – PoSSUM, or Polar Suborbital Science in the Upper Mesosphere – for scientists and citizen scientists to conduct research flights. I have received this training, as well as spacecraft emergency egress training. I remain involved with the program. Most recently, I helped Jason conduct in-flight spacesuit tests.
